I started a thread on the TiVo.com support forum ( http://forums.tivo.com/pe/action/forums/displaypost?postID=10319047 ) and got some help there but my TiVo still refuses to work with my iMac. Is there any help you can provide? I am so frustrated by this. All the basic info is on the link above but basically my TiVo just suddenly stopped communicating my my iMac one day and I can no longer use the music and photos. Plus I just bought Toast8 and I can't access TiVo for the "TiVo Transfer" program. I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Did you try reentering you media access key?

Hi. Thanks for responding. I'm not sure what you mean (like I said in my other thread, I'm not too computer savvy). Where should I re-enter it?

It's under preferences within the TiVo Transfer application
However, I don't think that's the problem since the TiVo itself isn't showing up using the Bonjour methods from the Macintosh -- and TiVo Transfer uses Bonjour to "discover" the TiVo.
Did you try seeing if your router was running the most current firmware version?
Which Linksys router are you using?

BEFSR41 - EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch
I tried dl'ing the latest firmware but it was a .bin file and stuffit didn't recognize it.
Linksys's Mac support is non-existent, I believe.

StuffIt shouldn't recognize it -- it's a file to be used by the router and if it's like the router I had, there's a screen on the router's screens where you can upload the .bin file
Make very sure that you have the right firmware file for the version of the router you have.
BTW -- look what I found -- http://www.maclife.com/forums/post/1379418
Looks like this router does have issues with handling Bonjour.

Hey thanks for investigating. I'm sure I probably need to get a new router. Although this one is relatively new and it worked fine with bonjour for a while, apparently, because TiVo and my iMac shared perfectly at one point. I've gone and uploaded the latest firmware (thanks for that bit of info too, no need to use an expander program, just loaded right on there). Of course, Bonjour Browser still can't find a thing. I was gonna attach a screen grab of what it looks like here but I can't seem to get the image small enough now.

Hey Bob,
Just curious, what kind of router do you have? And are you on a Mac? I;m looking for suggestions basically on what's the right hardware to buy so I can utilize this feature again.

I have an Airport Extreme Base Station (the older 802.11g one which only has a single Ethernet connection for the internal network -- so I connect that to an Ethernet switch. I also have three Airport Express units which work as "remote base stations" with the Airport Extreme as the "main base station" in a WDS configuration.
It's probably more than what most folks would ever do. The Airport Express units extend the range of the wireless network and I connect printers to them so the printers are networkable.

Another poster over at the TiVo help forums found an thread elsewhere that covers how to make the adjustment to this Linksys router to allow Bonjour to get through...
