I have a Sony receiver (HT-DDW700) that I purchased about two months ago that does not recognize any codes given. Is there somewhere you can search for additional codes or some other way to fix the problem?
I don't think it matters considering it's the remote, but it's a series 2 80 hr DT.
Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is still applicable, but I had to change my Sony AV receiver to use the AV1 remote set. It came with AV2 as a default. TiVo remotes only have the AV1 set.
I just noticed the "HT" in your model number. I think the Home Theater receivers might be different.

Jim - Thanks, I could try that to verify.
How do I change the setting on the receiver?

With my receiver there is an option for changing the remote set.
Each receiver is a little different .
How to do it should be in the manual (if applicable).

Hi, I just purchased the Sony HT-ddw 790 and cannot get the TIVO remote to operate the Sony Receiver. Anyone have a code or suggestion? The remotecentral link does not list this particular receiver.
TIA!

Here's a similar thread with a different Sony receiver.

If your receiver can't be switched to the AV1 codeset, which matches all sony codes in the tivo remote, then you're out of luck.

Thanks, unfortunately no luck so far. Is there a list of known receivers that can not be switched to the AV1 codeset? I tried several of the solutions for receives that had numbers close to mine but cant find the exact model. The owners manual says nothing about switching codesets (which probably is not a good sign for me).
Thanks again

Sony switched codesets back in 2002, sometime they will drop the old codeset completely.
If you can't switch, you might look into getting the GLO tivo remote, where you can teach it the commands.
