Hi upgraders,

I have a Series 3 with the stock drive. I'd like to start thinking about upgrading to a 750 GB drive.

My problem is, I have Macs at home -- one is a 24" Intel iMac, with Win XP Home installed on Boot Camp and Parallels. The other is an older iBook. I also have a Gateway Win XP laptop.

How can I go about upgrading my drive with what I have? Or is it even possible?

My dad has a couple of old computers in his attic (Win 98-era PCs). I have used those in the past to upgrade my S2s. But they do not have SATA internally (they have IDE) and they are old and slow.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Depending, you may be able to use a USB-SATA adapter. I am just guessing though.

Crowfan,

I agree with classicsat that you may be able to use a USB-SATA adapter. I am contemplating a Series 3 and would certainly upgrade to a Seagate 750 GB drive.

This is what I was going to try. I would use one of the ancient Win98 desktops with a IDE to SATA converter which is suggested to use with the PTVupgrade image.
