We will be moving soon and I have a few questions concerning the HR10-250.

1) Will I be able to watch the shows that are recorded without the Directv completely setup? It will be a day or two after we are in the new house before Directv can do the dish install.

2) Will the OTA input work also without Directv completely setup?

You can watch shows that were recorded with no trouble. I think you might have to hit the DirecTV button when it starts up and goes to teh downloading info from satellite screen.

Not totally sure about the OTA as I never tried it, but I beleive you can do a channel scan and manualy watch things but of course, no guide, so as long as you know what channels are what it should be OK. No recording either IIRC.

I have successfully configured the OTA tuner without satellite service, so the answer to both questions is Yes. It is true you won't be able to record, but you can watch.
