I looking for verification that my Sony SVR-2000 series 1 can only tune channels from 0 to 99 range. I was planning on using it as a cable music tuner the music stations are in the 400 range.

Your Sony can't tune any channels that you need a cable box for, analog or digital.

If you can't get it with a cable-ready TV, you can't get it with a series 1 or series 2 TiVo.

To get scrambled channels on analog cable, or ANY digital cable channels, you need to connect the TiVo to a cable box.
