Since the 8.3 update, I've been experiencing significant issues burning to both DVD-R and DVD-RW media. Before the update, I was able to burn to Imation-brand DVD-R discs, and Verbatim-brand DVD-RWs. Since the update, I cannot burn to anything with any semblance of reliability. The DVD-Rs will not burn at all - the DVD-RWs fail, and show up in the main menu as "Unrecognized." However, occasionally when the DVD-RWs are put in a computer, they play fine. These issues have been ongoing since the late-summer update last year, but were fixed in the Fall update. Now the Spring update is pushed down, and everything is broken once again. I have gone through all of the practices of rebooting and/or completely powering the unit down before burning, but nothing seems to work. They're all from the same pack, so it's not an issue of going to the store and picking up new discs. It worked one day, and now it doesn't.

Additionally, since the update last summer (I was really hoping 8.3 would resolve this issue) I cannot rewind at 3X, either on Live TV or when watching a recorded show. It's definitely not an issue with the remote (I have tried from an MX-500, the TiVo remote, and the front controls on the unit itself). I press rewind three times, it quickly goes through all three options, and moves back to 1X rewind speed. If I go to 2X, then move back down to 1X, it will automatically jump to 3X speed. I am open to any ideas or methods to resolve either one of these issues. Otherwise, I'll most likely be waiting for the next update, when these issues can hopefully be resolved.
