Any idea if TiVo is working with Comcast to allow the Series 3 to allow the Channel 1 OnDemand functions? Seems like a real waste to have the unit be CableCard capable without being able to have some of the most promoted features that Comcast Digital cable offers?

The S3 cannot be changed in anyway to support OnDemand.

Because the Series 3 (now) does not support two way communication that is needed for On-Demand, SDV, and other Cable services like PPV.

Current cablecards only support one-way communication, regardless of what the Tivo can do. I think you'd need a set top box specific to your cableco's requirements. The S3 Tivo is more generic in it's interface capabilities.

That's not correct. CableCARD 1.0 supports 2-way.
