I've done a search, both on this site and Google, and I haven't found what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to find out what sat/transponder NESN HD is transmitted from. New England Sports Network is the RSN that carries Red Sox and Bruins games, and they have a 24/7 HD feed that DirecTV carries. I'm pretty sure that it's a spot beam for the Boston area, and I would like to figure out whether or not I can get a good signal in southern Maine.

Any help or information is appreciated. If anyone from Maine is currently getting NESN HD, please let me know where in the state you are. And yes, I realize that it's an MPEG 4 channel. On my HR10-250, I receive the SD feed on channel 623.

I don't have an answer, but the RSNs are national, for the sports pak subscribers... I would hope they're doing this for the HD RSNs also.

There is no NESN HD available from D* at all in Maine. Even with the new 5 LNB dish and the HR20. No ETA either.

D* says it is a spot beam issue which is cr*p since all NH zip codes on the border can get NESN HD, but ME cannot.

My guess is that NESN HD will be available in ME later in the year, Mpeg4 only.

NESN HD is only available in select Boston zip codes and with an HR20 or H20 receiver (MPEG4 capable) and one of the new 5 LNB dishes (Slimline AU9 or AT9). Even though the spotbeam covers Maine to Pennsylvania, D* has not allowed viewing of the channel outside of an immediate Boston Zip. I live in Connecticut and "moved" to a Boston zip to get it. That of course means I lose my Hartford locals via D* but I supplement via my OTA. Folks have reported the spotbeam available all the way down in Penn. Who knows if D* will release the channel to all NESN territory before the new sats are launched.
