For anyone out there interested, their 7th season just started this past Sunday.
I have watched the last 2 seasons of Australia and UK and I find it interesting yet very different from the US show.

From what I've seen in the past, you and I are the only ones that watch it. The fact that in order to watch the series you have to download it via newsgroups or torrents probably means it would appeal to maybe 5% of this forum.
At this point (6+ seasons of both series) the Australian series is actually substantially better. Both series have run their course, but the format of the AU version yields much more meaningful results. By straying from the Survivor-in-a-house format, BBAU at least makes the audience feel like the people on the show are *somewhat* grounded in reality. By now, the American version is chocked full of egos pathetically hoping they'll be the next big thing once the show's over.
I can't completely knock BBUSA since I've somehow managed to see every single episode over the last 7 years. It still serves its purpose for relatively low-budget entertaining summer programming, and the discussions about each episode here seem to still thrive.
It's a shame that more people don't check out the Aussie (old) Big Brother format. You have to be patient to put up with daily episodes and plenty of fluff, but in the end at least it's a little closer to that "reality" part of a reality show.
I've said for the last few years it's time for BBUSA to go away for a summer or two and come back entirely retooled. It might be beyond the budget of the show, but it really is time to go 100% HD. They need to get away from the ridiculous traditions of the show, such as Julie's mechanical deliveries, the same ol' competitions every year, etc. If they're so keen on making it such a competitive format, I'd like to see (in HD widescreen of course) some kind of status bar that sits at the bottom of the screen (think ESPN) that keeps less-informed viewers updated on the current house. Information such as perceived alliances, HoH/veto holders and maybe even a bit of statistics.
Sorry to hijack the thread, I'm glad you pointed out the season starting to the masses. I think if people gave BBAU a chance they'd quickly note the glaring flaws of our own homegrown version.

Thanks. I just watched most of the first episode on YouTube and a few vids at http://www.bigbrother.3mobile.com.au/.
Looks like they have a temporary free live stream going right now http://www.bigbrother.3mobile.com.au/widgets/freelivestream.html.

I just watch the foreign clips with nudity and sex! :) No need to watch the whole episodes!

I watched a couple years ago and it is far better than ours. I think both Australia and UK feeds are always free because they are sponsored and their quality is better than ours.

I'm in if I can download the whole episodes on bit torrent. I didn't even think about that, but I'm always hearing how much better the Austrailan version is. Do I just do a search for Austraila Big Brother?

Aussie episodes are available through Big Brother Binaries (http://www.bigbrotherbinaries.net/). Hope that's not breaking any rules, it's not like we can watch it stateside through any other means.

I had a real subscription last year to the live feed for I think 8 pounds about 3-4 weeks from the end. The price drops as the season goes on, starts high like 30-40 pounds. They charged my credit card and it said BB Australia, so you can subscribe from the US.
Maybe to see those hour shows you may need bittorrent, which is so complex I will sure not ever be doing. But there are clips of the best parts you can see on the site if you subscribe, and it had adult section last year. You may well see stuff not on the hour show there, so be aware. I have not been able to do that with the English one by the way.

My understanding is ANYONE can pay for the Australian feeds. I know some people on Bigbrotherfanclub.com do it.
I don't have the time for any BB live feeds, but I do manage to get the episodes and see them.
Newsgroups and bittorrents are essentially fed from the same source.
I will spoiler a bit for anyone interested:
There big twist this season is they have guy and girl couple in the house together, ala a twins thing where they can not be discovered. However, an additional twist is the girl has an ex-boyfriend they have added to the mix whose goal is to make things uncomfortable for them, and the current boyfriend knows nothing about him. I was skeptical on how it might play out, but the early going has been fairly interesting.
I think one of the biggest things for the Australian show is the age of the cast. This year they have two people over 30, but most people are like 19-24 and in the past almost everyone has been that young.
I will say the UK and AU versions are so different from the US version just because they can't talk about votes, or the game. So everything is focused on doing tasks and interacting. The US show is essentially one big gameshow with all the discussions focused on the game.
Not saying one is better than the other, they are just completely different shows.

So far, the Haley triangle related tasks for are cracking me up. TJ messing with Thomas was not cool, I'm not sure yet if I am going to hate her for her attitude or respect her for her manipulation abilities.

Haha I just saw the TJ/Thomas discussion and that was really weird. She was very mean to him. Wasn't someone else complaining the other day that he was way too nice and always apologizing. I suspect that he is already wearing on some people.

I downloaded the opening episode, and I liked it. I have never saw any version, other than the American one, before. I think I will try this out for a few more.
What do I need to be looking for, as far as episodes? It looks like to me, that there are 2 shows, every night, a "daily show" and an "up late" show. Is that correct?
Do you guys download both, or just one?
watch the Big Brother Adults only, they show quiet abit of shower scenes! Lol
This season looks to be like there will be alot of bitchiness!

That was discontinuied last year after the "turkey slap" incident and Gov't pressure on the show.

I bet some of the shower scenes will be incorperated into other clips because in almost all other countries they have sense enough to know there is nothing bad about nudity. In any case, if you wait till the price for the feed drops to 8 pounds near the end, you will then have access to ALL the clips from the whole season to watch, a good deal for 15 bucks US.
If you subscribe now, it is much higher, and most clips have not been made yet, so that is bad-bad, unless you just want to watch live feed only. Be aware when I had access they were almost always asleep, due to time differences. But I loved all the clips and some of these are 15 minutes, whole discussions, not the 30 sec ones we are used to here in ripoff USA. What I remember all were 2 minutes or more, most a lot more, and way over a hundred of them.
