I dont think enough people watch it to merit a separate thread each week so unless someone does start new, how about we just keep everything to this thread except previews for the upcoming weeks.

Da brat started off well. Was it planned do you think? talk about not respecting his 'authoritay'.

Screech appears to have a problem with it as well. Unfortunately i saw marsha on a talk show recently so that spoiled things for me in that area. But oh well.

Should be a fun year.

One note, do you think their scale is true? The reason i ask, and i know everyone is different shapes, but i know someone that is 5 1 and 150 and she looks nothing like (i think it was tiff), who was about the same weight (i may have forgotten who). this person has a belly but skinny legs and arms so I didnt believe that there could be such a difference. amazing.

The one thing I noticed several times you could see the weight display and it was never what they told the person.

I actually from the little I saw last night side with Screech. To me he didn't have necessarily a problem with authority but more the way they were trying to deliver their message. Based on the first episode I could see him doing fine on say the Biggest Loser since the trainer doesn't come across with the same attitude. I also laughed out loud when they described pizza as an addiction.

I already hate Dustin Diamond. He's so incredibly full of himself.

And not in an "I love to hate" kind of way.

First off, the scale doesn't just jump immediately to the final weight of the person. It is just like 99.99999 % of scales and it takes a second to hone in on the final weight....big deal.

Second...are you laughing because you disagree that food is not or cannot be an addiction?

Actually every digital scale I have been on, once it shows the number that is the final number. It doesn't gradually increase or jump to random numbers as it hones in on the weigh. Multiple times you see the display saying the weight just before he says what they weigh and the number wasn't moving and it never matched what they say. Maybe it is just horrible editing.

Yes but then again based on the new rules and definition of addiction I am addicted to everything. Food can definitely be a coping mechanism but to me that isn't an addiction.

All addictions are in some sense coping mechanisms. If you eat to reduce the pain or loneliness you feel and need to release to survive, that makes food a very real addiction. But with a critical difference. if you're alcoholic or a drug user, you can stop using them all together. Food addicts have to learn to moderate their intake. That's much harder. Imagine if you told the alcoholic he had to learn to take one and only one drink per day and then see how successful they would be at quitting.

I guess the camera does make you look heavier because I thought Marsha, ooops I mean Maureen and Tiffany looked heavier than 150. Maureen looked like a frumpy mom, and Tiffany, well, she's really morphed into some kind of shape. I thought both looked more like they weighed 170-180.

Dustin, uuggghhh, gross. His bulbous nose really bothers me along with his big mouth. He can dish it out, but he can't stand it when someone calls him "Screech." If I were on this show I would call him Screech all the time. :D

Totally agree. I told my wife......"Honey, I don't get it. These chicks look HUGE and only weighed 150 and you look normal and weigh 135? What gives?" She said some people hide it better

With Maureen I think it was that outfit, particularly the skirt, that made her look so large.

Dustin/Screech - what a jerkwad that guy is. He is WAY too full of himself ever since his porno tape. I have a feeling that some will make a point of calling him Screech because if his attitude.

DaBrat - I only knew her from Surreal Life and that is how she always there. I like her, but she is definitely an 'in your face' type of person.

As far as the scale, I think it is just shown that way on the screen for the sake of drama...

I think the black model from a couple seasons back, Toquisha? Something like that, she carried it better than these chicks and she was about 180.

I just saw a preview for the rest of the season, and I gotta say, I think I'm really going to like Ross. Not watching The Tonight Show, I don't really know much about him, but he always kind of seemed a bit annoying. But he seems, in the previews, to have a lot of heart.

The Da Brat thing was contrived and so is most of what Screech is doing. He's all about getting camera time. I thought it was funny when Ross the intern told him to shutup because "this is my time". :D

Still, every year in May is when I start doing extra weights at the Gym, and start getting hard core about healthy good food again. Wouldn't be Summer without a good run of Celeb Fit Club! This season looks to be as ridiculous (read entertaining) as every other. It's nice to have someone to suffer with. :D

I liked when the lady psych doc told Dustin to put his hand up, then told him to put it over his mouth. BTW, I really liked the other lady psych doc from previous years. Maybe this one will work out because she is quick witted and I like that.

I never knew Dustin Diamond was such a tool, but he proved it in one episode.

I believe people can be addicted to food; I know someone who has been in OA for years, and she has to work the program, just like AA, for her life to be on track.

As for the weights, people carry weight differently, and if you have poor muscle mass, you're going to look heavier than someone who has a more muscular frame. I always look like I weigh less than I do, only because I have a muscles and a large frame (not big bones, a large frame). It looks like both Tiffany and Maureen have small frames, which means that they don't carry weight well at all.

I'm looking forward to this season, even though I never heard of some of these people, and don't care about most of the others.

The only thing I know about Da Brat was what I saw on the Surreal Life, and she was pretty cool when she encountered what's-his-name peeing in the corner. :D

I like Ross The Intern, and I'm glad to see more of him, since I don't watch Leno.

Never heard of Cletus and that other rapper, but they both seem okay.

I don't know if I like the men vs. women thing. Men will almost always win those types of challenges, because they have more muscle mass to begin with, and muscle burns at a higher metabolic rate than anything else. It's inherently unfair. But the point of the show isn't about fairness, I guess.

I love Ross the intern. He makes me happy.
I have been seeing these people on talk shows for a couple of months now so no big surprise how much some of them lose. I'll still watch. I thought Cletus T Judd's (sp?) story was very moving. Most men wouldn't talk about an eating disorder. I don't really know much about him but I'm rooting for him. I ike seeing Kim Locke. She is beautiful and talented.

I hope Screech ;) gets kicked off.

I don't watch Leno regularly but if you put in your wish list Ross the intern it will usually record it. His bits with Jesse James are a beautiful thing.

Ross the intern was pretty amusing. I'm gonna like him. I don't understand the men vs. women thing. On the Biggest Loser they did it by percentage. Shouldn't it be that way? Otherwise men will be losing more weight than the chicks.

I'm always happy to see Ross. He'll be my favorite to watch. Of course, seeing him on the red carpet recently, I already saw him thinner.

I like Cletus and have lots of his cds, but didn't know what he looked like or was like in person.

Da Brat was definitely like this on Surreal Life, but also has a softer side. She really went overboard with Harvey, and I totally agreed with the psych's assessment of her acting like a bratty teen.

Dustin must go! He has completely the wrong attitude and is just proving himself to be a piece of crap. Why is he even participating if he isn't willing to do things their way?! Go away Dustin, and let someone who will appreciate the experience participate!

This is one of my favorite shows watch it every week while on the tredmill at the gym. I am really disapointed with this seasons cast. I was hoping for 1 really big guy like phil who I could root for. Screech is just hamming it up trying to gain exposer and attention by being a jerk. I will strill continue to watch but so far am very disapointed.

Yeah, I have to admit, I miss having one really big person on the show that makes me feel not so bad about losing weight.

katbug

That seemed strange to me too...most of these people don't look like they really need to lose any weight. It would have been nice to have someone who was really needing this show (yeah, I'm sure they all need it for different reasons, but it would be nice to see a huge weight-loss).

Magnolia88

I don't understand the men vs. women thing. On the Biggest Loser they did it by percentage. Shouldn't it be that way? Otherwise men will be losing more weight than the chicks.

Even if they did use percentage of weight loss as the measure, men would still have an easier time losing weight for various reasons: faster metabolism, more muscle/lower body fat percentage, more weight to lose, etc. That's why all the Biggest Losers so far have been men (iirc).

So the men vs. women thing is stupid and a gimmick b/c unless the men do nothing but sit on their asses, they will "win."

I also think they put Maureen McCormick in that ridiculous skirt to make her look bigger b/c 150 is not that big (and smaller than the average American female). The camera does add weight also, but that outfit made her look like a bag lady.

Screech is a tool. I will be FFing through all his scenes b/c I can't stand to hear him blather on.

Well, I thought Dustin was an a$$ last week, but he went even further this week. He's just amazing. When he said that he'd been in the business 21 years, I laughed out loud. No, honey, you started in the business 21 years ago, but you're no longer in the business, you're now on the periphery of the business, trying like mad to keep people interested in you by pulling pathetic stunts like the porntape and selling stuff on eBay. That's not being in the business in most people's eyes.

Anyway, I like the rest of them. Except I keep forgetting Tiffany is there until someone mentions her.

I don't get that. Sure DD started off and rubbed people the wrong way. But seriously, he had a good point. I don't know anyone that has shakes and suffers from illusions when they don't get their pizza fix. I guess I am old school. Just because Marcia Brady is 150lbs and nowadays assume that is below avg (whatever) does not make is 'acceptable' and is not healthy period.

I think the pizza thing was greatly misunderstood.

Food CAN ABSOLUTELY become an addiction. There is no question in that, and any health professional will tell you that.

Saying pizza is an addiction is very similar to saying you're addicted to morphine. You're really addicted to drugs. Pizza's just her particular poison.

Maybe in extreme cases. However, it is more of a cop-out to label anything in order to minimize responsibility. Heck, I didn't feel like getting up and going to work today - geez...I must be addicted to sleep? Or is it that my sleep pattern is off because the dog was up all night with the thunderstorm? So yes it may happen in certains cases. Kimberly Locke being addicted to Pizza? I highly doubt it and Dustin called her out on it. In no way is this different that (D4mn I hate this name) DaBrat being a biaaaatch back. I think Dustin had the same vision I did with Kimberly staggering to the fridge, salivating at the mouth, and sweating profusely as she finally lunges to get that last piece of cold pizza.

Ok, about the food addiction thing...anyone (at least women) try to completely quit chocolate? It's a very big addiction, and yes, when passing it at the store I do get the shakes while trying to convince myself to skip it. Sometimes I overcome it and leave very proud of myself, other times I can't NOT buy it, and feel miserable when leaving the store, and even worse as I'm eating it. Food can DEFINITELY be addictive! As for drooling and sweating, etc...is that how you envision people trying to quit tobacco of any sort? That's not how I've seen people react to quitting it, but it doesn't mean that it's not an addiction!

Just finished watching this week's episode. DD just keeps looking worse and worse. I hope he does quit the show and that no one convinces him to stay. That's always a pet peeve...if they "want to leave the show" (read "want all attention on them"), let them! Good riddance!

Again....to me, this is pretty lame for lack of control and self discipline. Caffeine is not psychological as much as other food items (nervous system) and sure psychological can be the addiction, but you clearly have taken this out of the context of the show and why Dustin blurted out. Kimberly is not addicted to pizza. It was a comment that she threw out there to be funny and to 'break ice'. Dustin jumped at her attempt to not fully accept responsibility. Just because someone is fat and likes food does not mean we label it an addiction.

The phrase dusty keeps using 'warfare' or whatever is just silly. Hand to hand combat? Whatever it was it just makes me laugh. Threatening ant is very very sad. When in the dance he told dusty to quit the show, amazingly he didnt. Guess if it's not his idea he wont do it. And geez it's just a dance contest. Now i could see if he was pocketing money maaaaybe he getting upset but this wasnt for that.

so who is your allstar team for this show. Mine is

baldwin
willy ames
dusty
gary

unbeatable team....just show their rage and burn those calories

I missed too many seasons to pick a rage team, but from what I have heard, yours is right on the money. Crazy, man, crazy!
Dustin only threatened Ant 'cuz he's the only one he stands a chance against, lol. Even the psychiatrist woman could take him. When Harvey joined in you could practically see the $$ in Dustin's eyes. What a moron. (And Dustin's almost correct about his bragging...just has "has" and "is" confused..."Dustin IS a big ****").

dustin must go...or rather should have stayed gone. The tshirt was such a call for attention i think they need to send him off on an intervention. I wonder if zantrex paid him for the promo? And why they didnt edit it out?

I wonder if they will tell us what records were broken overall this season? seems like everyone just kicked ass.

There wasn't an episode last week, right?

I hope DaBrat kicks Dustin arse!

I loves me the Harvey. :D

Right, no episode last week.

I can't wait for next week; Dustin has been begging for a whooping since the first episode. I can't stand him, but I have to admit that the season has been interesting. And he certainly united the rest of the cast--against him!

I know they like characters like this because it makes for good tv, but I have to say I would enjoy the show SO much more without the drama. A little bit of drama is good...Dustin? Tragic.

At the start of the season I thought DaBrat was gonna bring all the drama. Now she and Harvey are cuddly friends. Awwwwww....

i'm glad ant gave it to them saying they would have won even with out the super huge expletive

i really hate the crappy quality of vh1 lol.....they all still looked fat to me on my widescreen.

Dustin was thrilled he won, I bet he sells off the stuff.

His GF thinks he's funny when he was making fun of Cletus, speaks volumes about her.

I tend to watch shows like these (The Biggest Loser for example) unstretched. Can't wait 'til every channel goes hidef!!

Back to the show, I have to say the finale was a bit too wishy-washy for me. Even though Dustin was a big tool (pun intended) he was the most entertaining.

O*M*G! I've known some real jerkwads in my life but I swear, I've never EVER known anybody who was such an *********, as Dustin, in my entire life! (guess I'm lucky, eh?)

I wonder what happened to him that made him so full of hatred and contempt for everybody. He needs to grow up and get a psychologist...maybe some meds.

The rest of the cast was great and enjoyable. Even though I had never heard of some of them - Cletus, Warren, Kimberly, and that cutie Ross - I enjoyed watching them succeed.

I think Dustin is very insecure. I'm remembering what Brat said about how he behaved in private: calm, nice, cool, and then when the cameras came on, he got obnoxious and defensive. I think it's a combination of him trying to cause drama, and not knowing how to react when his feelings get hurt (when he acts obnoxious and they don't take it from him). I've seen people like this in real life. Not necessarily to this extent, but not knowing how to back down and defuse a situation when they're being offensive. They end up making things worse every time.

ANYWAY!

I really liked the rest of the cast. Maureen was the most annoying, but only because she was so excited by her progress at the end. And really, was the gospel choir truly necessary?

Tiffany was the least impactful; I kept thinking "Oh, and Tiffany" when I was thinking of the cast.

I didn't know Warren G. or Cletus at all, and only knew Da Brat because of the Simple Life. She was cool on that show, and I liked her even more on CFC. Cletus I really liked, and not only because of his confrontation last night. :D

Ross, I feel like I got to know, even though I liked him whenever I saw him on the Tonight Show. He just has a sweet spirit, and is funny, chubby or not!

This was the most engaging cast of the show, IMO. Not counting DD, I really honestly liked and was rooting for the entire cast.

OMG, I looooved Harvey in the finale. What a horn dog!!!!!

I gotta admit though, Da Brat did look good. Maureen's arms went from fat and flabby to skinny and toned. I just couldn't stand her constant screaming. Ross was a such a cutie, and he's FUNNY!!!!

Man I missed the last episode I need to watch it! The last thing I remember is Screech coming back and not giving any explanation as to why he has been gone.

Brat really did look amazing! She is a lovely girl and I liked how she and Harvey came around.

I still wish we could have seen Harvey kick Dustin's asp, but I think you are probably right, Ntombi (PS: I always enjoy your POV and your posts in general)...he was basically 'putting up for the cameras'. I guess it's the only way he knows to get attention.

Oh, that clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WQqioqW9Xw) of Ross and Steve Irwin is one of my absolute favorites! This one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHzX9LvYto4&mode=related&search=) of Ross the Weatherman is funny too.

Thanks so much for the compliment, sharkster. :)

Finally got to finish the season last night (well, the episode before the finale that got deleted early was rerecorded and waiting to be watched). I just can't believe that they never booted Dustin. He was such a jerk and fought them all the way. Wow, he lost weight on pills...actually, now I want to know how 'cuz I've tried all kinds of them and none have ever made me lose that kind of weight (actually, they've never made me lose any weight at all).

They should have booted him for going against the program in the beginning and replaced him with someone else while it was still early enough to do. When they didn't do that, they should have booted him when he admitted he took the diet pills! What kind of message did they just send out by having him lose 17 lbs. at the last weigh-in?! Now I want to try the pills again! I don't think that's what they wanted to promote. Since it was based on overall team %age lost, they could have had unbalanced teams in the end.

Oh well, enjoyed all the cast, except DD. I think the only one I wasn't familiar with was Warren G. Good cast, good season...hopefully next year's will be more willing to work the program!

What Dustin did was "Cut Weight" not LOSE weight. Fighters do it all the time and it's pretty common knowledge now that shows like "The Ultimate Fighter" are available. The program has shown how fighters can sit in a sauna and "cut" as much as 15 to 20 POUNDS of water weight in a couple of days. They know for a fact that Dustin was seen at some Saunas somewhere so it's pretty clear that's all he did. He starved himself and cut weight in the sauna. I bet he had almost all of it back by the weekend. :D

Yup, and I would not be surprised if he weighed even more than he started because his body's metabolism might slow down to make up for his lack of food.

Those pills are not much more than caffine pills. Not magic pills by any means.

if you get starz( I think), see if you can find a repeat of Bronx Bunny. (short skit show with fake animal things doing interviews) This weekend DD was on it and it was great what they did to him. Everyone in this thread can appreciate it!

for those that cant get it or in case it doesnt repeat:

dd came in, sat down, and i forget what he said but it was something along the lines of my apt is being sprayed for bugs so can i hang here? The bunny said i dont believe you...DD said ok it's not being sprayed but can i stay here and hang out anyway? The bunny said no you cant, and DD just had to leave. Was funny as heck (much funnier than my description). Sad thing is we didnt get to see if he really is that much of a jerk or just pathetic and couldnt even manage a skit of himself lol
