Dr. Who / Torchwood viewing question *minor spoilers*

I have yet to watch any episodes of Torchwood beyond the first episode. In keeping with continuity, do I need to finish watching Torchwood before watching the next season of Doctor Who? I know Captain Jack makes an appearance next season on Doctor Who, I just don't know if it ties in with Torchwood.

Short answer: not really.

Long answer: It'd be worth your time to check out at least the last two episodes of TWS1 before diving into DWS3. There are a handful of "blink-and-you'll-miss-them" references to the DW season-long arc, and the series ends with Captain Jack's return to the TARDIS, which will occur toward the end of Series 3.
