I've finished Farscape and am now adding BSG to my Netflix queue.

I'm making sure I've got everything lined up.

1. Miniseries (I actually have seen this but want to get refreshed).

2. Season 1

3. Season 2.0

4. Season 2.5 (not sure why they're listed like this)

5. Web Episodes???

6. Season 3

The episode listing on tv.com says there were some web episodes between season 2 and 3. I can't find those on Netflix.

So my questions are, is the above the correct order and is there any way to find those web episodes? And how crucial are they?

No spoilers in responses please.

Thanks!!

I've never heard of web episodes and I'm pretty sure I've subscribed to every thread for all the eps since the show began...I don't recall any discussion of those things existing...

You can still watch the webisodes online at SciFi Pulse (http://video.scifi.com/player/?id=29339). They fit in just before season 3, but aren't vital to the plot.

Yeah, you can ignore the webisodes if you want. They fill in a bit of background for the first few episodes of season 3 but aren't really necessary.

Season 2.0 and 2.5 are done that way because the SciFi channel showed the first 10 episodes of season 2 then went on a long hiatus before starting back up again. The DVD for the first half of the season actually came out before the second half started, IIRC. That's where the weird naming came from.

The last episode in the 2.0 set also exists as an expanded version in the 2.5 set. (It was originally a 90 minute episode that got trimmed to one hour before airing.) The one in the 2.0 set is what aired but you may want to wait and watch the expanded version in the 2.5 set instead. (Can't be more specific because the episode title itself is, in a way, a spoiler.)

I wish I had known about these...to answer the OP, you got the order right and I will say that the webisodes are good enough that I can think of 3-7 eps that I would have lived without in order to see those wepisodes as part of the series...they certainly explained some things...

you must watch them before season 3...and they are very good...

I watched the webisodes before S3 started and I felt like they really helped explain some stuff, since there's a big jump in time between S2 and S3.

You don't really need the miniseries DVD if you just want to watch the episode and not the extras. The mini is also included in the season 1 DVD set.

Netflix shows that the first disc in Season one has the following episodes:

"33," "Water," "Bastille Day" and "Act of Contrition."

These aren't the miniseries, right?

Beware there are those who would consider the above a spoiler. I recommend you start watching and quit reading this thread. The Webisodes are short and free. If you can squeeze them in before you start Season 3 all the better.

Correct. But the series picks up literally hours after the mini. I think you should watch the mini again first. Even though it is a bit slow.

+1

Yeah, the mini is a bit slow. If one doesn't watch it, they'll miss a lot of the backplot and might be really confused. The intro of the 1st ep also gives away one major point at the end of the mini.

Netflix doesn't include the miniseries in with S1; it's its own separate disc. Which I think is exactly what you said. Just wanted to confirm it for you. ;)

I think the question was more about the content of the Season 1 DVD set.

Above it'd been said the mini was included in the Season 1 set, and yet the Netflix version of the Season 1 set seems to start out with Season 1 itself, skipping the mini-series content.

Yes, I own (actually won them all in a drawing) the season 1 and 2.0 DVD sets along w/a copy of the mini. So, I have two copies of the mini. As for what Netflix has... beats me since I'm not a member.

With regards to the Webisodes (of which I've watched the first 4)

They're supposed to take place before season 3 ep 1? Because I distinctly recall in that ep Callie was still pregnant and hadn't given birth. I remember a scene in which she was HUGE when Tyrol was giving some union worker speech. In the Webisodes, the baby is already born.

That was at the end of season 2, when they were on New Caprica but before the occupation...season 2 ended with the cylons appearing and Baltar surrendering to them...so yes, the webisodes are between S2 and S3

Just to clarify (or confuse maybe) when I rented season 1 from netflix they sent me "Disc 1" which has printed on it Disc 2 and contains the first 4 episodes. Netflix treats the miniseries (which is the real Disc 1) separately. So yes, it is included with the first season, but not if you rent it. If you rent it from netflix they start you with the season 1 episodes. Miniseries is a separate rental.

this is good news for me. I just found my recording of pt2 and watched it. Now to plug in the old T60 for all the seasons on there and then move up to the hdtivo's seasons.

I use epguides.com for my tracking for most series

For those who use Blockbuster, S1 will include the miniseries disc 1, before you get the first episode disc which is disc 2. I found that out the hard way, getting the miniseries, which is also available seperately, first. Then adding S1 to my queue and getting the miniseries again. :(
