Hello -
Is there any device out there that will allow me to watch programs on my Tivo in another room? I'm thinking Slingbox but instead of controlling from my computer, I'm just accessing my Tivo from a TV in another room?
I have a Phillips DirecTivo. Sorry, I don't know the model. I'm not really interested in buying another Tivo, but sometimes I'd like to be able to watch my Tivo from my office when I'm on the computer.
Thanks!

There's this

and this

Both allow remote IR control.

If it wouldn't be a long run you could either split the output of your DVR so you could watch the same show on both TVs, or you could just use an extra output from the receiver if there is another one. That would be a lot cheaper than buying a special device to save you work. I run an extra cable from my DVR to go to my computer in the next room and it works fine for me. It just sucks having to go into the other room to use the remote.

I noticed that one unit is 2.4 GHz, which I have heard interferes with wireless internet access and cordless phones, the other is 5.8 GHz and I was wondering if there would be a problem with my cordless phones as they are 5.8 GHz?

I set a "home channel" using a Channel Plus system. Essentially you are creating a channel (in my case 69 and 79) for each of your TIVOs. I tried the wireless stuff but it never really worked well. The system is based on coaxial cable and has an IR repeater which piggy backs on the cable so you only need to run one.
You will need a Channel Plus 3025 (http://www.amazon.com/Channel-Multiroom-Distribution-System-Modulator/dp/B00006JPED/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0563926-0384931?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1177110771&sr=8-1) which costs $80
and a Channel Plus 2133 Repeater (http://www.amazon.com/CHANNEL-PLUS-2133-Remote-Target/dp/B00006JPE5/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-0563926-0384931?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1177110771&sr=8-2) for $50
and finally a Channel Plus 2171 IR Emitter (http://www.amazon.com/CHANNEL-PLUS-Control-Emitter-Repeater/dp/B00006JPDV/ref=pd_bbs_3/102-0563926-0384931?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1177110771&sr=8-3) for $20
The manuals are online if you want more details. The only down side is that this is not a high definition system. However, the quality is excellent!
I also looked at the Slingbox and soon to be released Slingcathcher. That will also do what you want. Sony also has a version of the same thing.
