Sluggish compared to Series 1?

I have a series 1 and 2 and since I got the series 2 it always responded MUCH slower to commands...almost like when a computer is using too much memory and is trying to crunch those numbers - the Series 1 is much more snappier - could this be because the HD is on it's way out or is this the way they all are?

Yes - although I have an extra 40 hr Tivo same model if I need to use that

I have had this unit for like 6 months and I just got the most reent update the other day and it still seems to be the same sluggish -
