2.3a or 2.4 Will Not Transfer Recordings

I have 2 Series2 Tivos. Using XP, SP2

When I try to Pick Recordings to Transfer from either networked Tivo, I get the following error message:

"There was an error while attempting to retrieve data from the selected DVR. Not enough storage is available to process this command."

I get this when accessing either DVR. I have 45 Gbs of open space on my Tivo Recordings drive on the computer. I permanently deleted all of the deleted files on both the Tivos to free up space, but that did not change anything.

There is no problem with my network. Both Tivos are connected using Tivo's USB2 Wireless device.

This used to work and now it does not.

Can anyone help?

It is the TiVo that is running out of storage (RAM I presume). The workaround is to restart the TiVo. What software version is running on those TiVos, 8.1 or 8.3?

I am using 8.1a on both. I will try the restart and post results a little later.

I reset the TIVO and now it works again. Many thanks for your help.

I am hoping this is one of the things 8.3 fixes, and so far haven't seen any posts of 8.3 people still having the problem. Keep your fingers crossed.

I just got the 8.3 update last night. I have had this memory problem since 8.1 loaded. I upgraded the Desktop to 2.4 hoping this would help with 8.1
It worked for one day then, back came the "Not enough storage" error.

Now I am running TiVo 8.3 and Desktop 2.4 preview on FULLY update XP system.
My hopes are high! Surely TiVo Has fixed the bug...

My PC connected with Tivo, YEAH,
it downloaded 11 of 16 shows, YEEEAHH,
it gave up and told me It had an error connecting with DVR Doh!
Reboot computer and launch desktop???
Same tired messege "Not enough storage..." Sigh!
