Here's a problem that's currently stumping me. When I try to transfer video files from my PC to my wirelessly connected Tivo, the transfer rate is unbearably slow. The wireless G connection status is "good" to "fair", but it take hours to transfer minutes of video. I've tried transferring from two different PC's using a variety of methods (Tivo Desktop, Galleon, pyTivo) all with the same results. Here's the kicker: if I transfer shows from my other networked Tivo (hardwired), they transfer with no problem, faster than real time. The hardwired Tivo is running 8.3 and the wireless one still at the previous software.
This would imply that there's no problem with the wireless connection, but a problem with the PC interaction. I have firewalls turned off to make sure that it's not a port-related issue, but is there some thing else that I'm missing? I'm running XP and Vista on the PC's, with no difference in transfer speeds between them. Any ideas?
