For the last few days my HR 10-250 has on occaison been recording only partial programs (from the season pass manager) but other times it records full programs. It seems to be mainly HD programs that are only partially recorded and it will record anywhere from 1 second to 37 minutes of the program and then stop. It is NOT a disk space issue. I have 69 hours HD capacity and there are only a few programs in the "now playing" list.

Any suggestions other than "restart"? Thanks in advance.

Are you having an signal reception issues with those HD channels? Your Tivo might stop recording if it's losing the signal.

Here we ago again.

This week 24 was a partial recording (0 minutes) and Jericho was a partial recording (21 minutes). Both from the the HD MPEG 2 LA Satellite feeds. Signal strength is great.

I had some partial recording problems at the end of last year. No problems since then until this week. Prior to that to both my HR10's have worked perfectly for over two years.

I used to rely on the DIRECTV Tivo's (two HR10's and a SD unit) to record 100% - things have definitely been broken in last few months. I also saw the 'someone in your house canceled this recording' message when they were messing with the guide data a couple of months ago.

My HR10's are running 6.3c - which they have been running with no problems for many weeks.

This is a post I just put on another thread, but it's apropos here (although my experience is with OTA feeds):
---------------------------------
I was watching Lost tonight, barely behind realtime, and I got a slit-second flash of the "Searching for signal..." error and it stopped recording. Luckily, when I got to the end of the partial (35min) recording, the buffer on that tuner started up where it left off. I continued to watch from the buffer, catching up to realtime. Once, while watching in realtime, the "Searching..." banner flashed (for less than a second) and the buffer disappeared. I can't imagine that this is a signal issue. When I used to have a crappy antenna, the unit would record garbled crap (including seconds-long freezes) when the signal dropped.

SW is 6.3c

I'm starting to worry...
-------------------------------------

Signal strength is strong in the 80's and 90's. It seems that when the unit "loses" the signal from OTA, it scraps recordings AND the buffer. What gives?

I recorded both of these programs from the LA HD Mpeg-2 feeds on my unaltered HR10-250, running 6.3a. There were no problems here. I really wish I had unplugged the telephone line before 6.3, but that's what procrastinators get.

I got a partial recording last night. It was October Road on NBC OTA. We accessed the recording from the now playing list about 10-20 minutes after the actual start time. We watched the recording for 29 minutes. I paused it so the wife could get some laundry out of the machine. While I was wating, I went to live TV. Changed over to ESPN ch206. Wife came back, started up the recording and it had stopped. at 34 minutes.

Now I have to waste bandwidth downloading the torrent of this crappy show for the wife.

This has happened before, and it's getting quite tiresome......
