I have a Hughes Series 2 Direct TV TIVO and 1 regular receiver in a different room. Since a couple of weeks I have pixels up to large squares on a couple of channels. First I thought is a weather related issue, but there was no bad weather and the single receiver had no problems. Then I swapped all the cables on the single receiver, on the TIVO, and on the multi switch. The single receiver is getting always a perfect picture. I checked the transponders from 1 to 32 all off them except a few had readings 92 to 100. Channel 4, 12 had zero, channel 20 has 20 and channel 23 had one input with 92 the other was changing between 92 to 0.

Talked to DIRECTV service, but the only feedback I got is to do what I did so far and if that will not help they will send me a replacement DVR (R-15). I would like to keep my TIVO I am happy with it. Are there any more tests that I can do? The menu screens are all fine so I do not thing is the hard drive. Or could at be the hard drive?

Any idea what could cause the distortion on only a few channels?

Thanks.

I have that problem since a couple of weeks, I not sure if it started after the update.

FYI, transponders 4, 12, 18, 20, 26, and 28 are spot beams on 101. It's normal; for these to be zero, low, or very high depending location.

Check all cable connections for corrosion or looseness.
