hi, my old drvie in my rca dvr40 dtv tivo failed... so i'm replacing it with a little bit smaller drive.... i set the cd drive to primary slave... and the hard drive is on secondary cable select....

i got the hard drive formatted as one parttion as fat 32.... when the cd boots.. it eventually comes up with this error:

"Code: 8b 44 81 18 03 59 0c 89 41 14 40 74 0c 57 9d 89 d8 8d 65 f4"

"<0> Kernel panic: attempted to kill the idle task!"

"In idle task - not syncing"

and it is stuck on there... can anyone please help me out ?, thxs

What size hard drive are you using? Your new drive must be at least 40GB ... it cannot be smaller than the Tivo's original drive.

oh..its a 10gb hard drive...so thats why its not workin...anyway to use the 10gb drive?

Nope. But why would you want to? 40GB drives cost like $10 these days.
