Hi everyone,

I just got a new 16:9 LCD HDTV and currently have it hooked up to my old Pioneer 810H. My question is about letterboxed content. I noticed that the Pioneer 810 has a 16:9 setting that "works" for anamorphic widescreen DVD playback. It's wonderful!

Are there any other settings, modes or any feature on the 810 to get letterboxed recorded material to zoom "properly"?

I know that zoom mode on the TV should work, but my stupid cheapo TV doesn't have the "right" zoom ratio to expand 16:9 content letterboxed to 4:3 back out to its 16:9 display! The 810 does such a fantastic job on DVD playback that I was hoping to use it's processing for this task as well...

Nope. The 16:9 setting on the TiVo only effects DVDs and downloaded content. All recorded material is recorded at 4:3 and can only be zoomed by the TV itself.
