I can't do it! At least not with binary files. I can upload a text file to the tivo using zmodem without crash recovery but I get bad packet errors at the PC end when trying to send binary files - specifically the tivoweb archive.

My tivo trashed my hack directory after a green screen of death recovery.

I am using windows hyperterminal. Any pointers please?

Yep, I know what you mean. It does seem a very long time ago. Since my ftp access has gone though it's the only way I can think of to get files across to the tivo.

If you can telnet, httpget is installed in factory TiVo's I beleive. Don't know if that would help.

Just for the benefit of others, I never managed to transfer binary files using zmodem over http from the bash prompt.

What I did not realise though is that I never lost the ftp ability, I assumed I had because tivoweb had been deleted by the OS but apparently that does not mean that ftp access has also gone.

So now I am back up and running!
