I have two TIVO2 80Hr HUMAX DRT800 DVR with DVD Recorder. I have tried on both of my Humax recorders to take my 8mm camera and use the RCA cords and hook them directly to the front input of the Humax recorder so that I could record them to the TIVO unit. I have tried both units and when I go through the on screen prompts and start recording to the TIVO unit I get no audio. All the cords are hooked up correctly and since I have had the problem on both TIVO units it has lead me to believe that the problem is something with the front RCA ports.

Has anyone else run into this problem and do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Note: the back ports of the HUMAX recorders work fine it just seems that the front rca inputs don't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah if you are wondering my software version is: 8.1a-01-2-595

Well I called Humax directly and they told me on the phone that the problem has been identified with software version 8.1 and the programmers are working to roll out new software to address this issue. They told me to go to www.tivo.com/prioirty to keep up to date. I guess in the mean time that I will have to just keep my VCR tapes on VCR until I can get the new softare.

Oh well actually they did say that the back RCA ports work just fine and all I need to do is plug my cord in the back RCA ports. Seeing that I will need to move the big screen to get back to those spaghetti wires to do that I think I will just wait. Not in a rush.

Just wanted to let everyone know that software 8.3 fixed all my problems. I loaded the new software on both of my TIVOs and I am good to go.
