Hi,

I've been sifting through all sorts of forums and webpages and I can't quite figure out exactly what I'd like to do. Here's my situation.

I own 2 Directivo boxes that are somewhat far away from each other in the house.
1. hr10-250
2.sd-dvr80

I would like to be able to network them to watch recorded shows from the hr10250 box upstairs on the other box.

I would also really like to be able to set programming for the boxes via my computer (if possible, the networking is far more important for now though).

Also cool would be to have some cool extras that the directivo boxes don't have. Again the networking is my priority.

Also, I tend to always mess things up and format the wrong drives, so I think I'll just take out my old directivo drives and set them aside for safekeeping in case I mess everything up and have to resort back to the originals.

So from what I gather, I need to go to either of these lists of instructions. hinsdale-how-to -or- the tivo upgrade instructions (newbies can't post urls, so I couldn't post them here.)

install the free Mfs Tools 2.0 onto a hard drive.

Do I still need instant cake or a zipper? or tivowebplus? I'm really confused because there seem to be a lot of programs out there that sound really cool.

Anyway, I'm a somewhat bewildered girl who kinda needs her hand held with this sort of stuff. Once, I get going, I'll probably be good to go, I'm not as stupid as I sound.

Thanks,
Amy

Go to the Zipper and follow directions.

Following the Zipper directions - you will need to get the bootable cd - $5, if you are not going to copy your orginal drive to the new drive then you will need to get an image - $20. Read the thread. It lays it all out very simply.
