Can anyone comment on the various rate plans for the S3? I'm an existing customer with 3 existing S2 units (2 monthly, one lifetime - actually one of the monthly units is to be retired).
The 3yr commitment deal @ $299 looks attractive ($8.31/mo). Are these the only deals to choose from, or are there multi-unit deals, like the $6.95 I have now on my S2 monthly units.
Any suggestions or links?

As I step thru the activation process, I see the following options:
Monthly Options:
$10.95 / The TiVo Service Only 1 Year, Monthly
$8.95 / The TiVo Service Only 2 Year, Monthly
$6.95 / The TiVo Service Only 3 Year, Monthly
Prepay Options:
$179.00 / Service Only, 1 Year, Prepay
$299.00 / Service Only, 2 Year, Prepay
$299.00 / Service Only, 3 Year, Prepay
What's the difference between the MONTHLY and PREPAY options. Seems like the 3yr MONTLY is my best bet, right?

36 (3yrs) months X $6.95 = $250.20
3yrs prepay $299.00
You save almost $50 by doing the monthly, So go for the 3yr commitment with the monthly plan.
If you are looking for a lifetime TiVo buy a used TiVo on Ebay w/ lifetime, Buy a Lifetime Gift card on Ebay, Buy a Humax on Ebay and purchase the lifetime from TiVo.

Well, lifetime is the best, but since like me that isn't an option I guess the 3 year plan.
I can't believe however their is a discount for adding additional units. I know with D-TiVo it was only like a buck extra fro each additional unit. TiVo service is high enough as it is.
Hang on, someone will come in with the correct rates soon. :)

The prepay option only makes sense for the first unit. Any additional units on the account should be on the monthly plan with 3 year commitment to realize the maximum savings.

If he didn't have any other TiVos, he would be getting prices of $16.95, $14.95, $12.95 for the 3 monthly plans. The discount is $6 per month.
Yes, Markp99, signing up monthly with a 3-year commitment is the way to go if you already have other TiVos. Note that the 3 year commitment is actually transferable between TiVos; it's an overall service commitment, not one for just the S3. In particular, I believe if you've had the S2s for a while, and decide to drop the S3 for whatever reason, you'll be able to transfer that commitment to an S2. Thus the 3 year commitment shouldn't be any problem at all for you, assuming you don't drop TiVo altogether within that 3 years.
