I ran guided setup on my new S3 last night over a wired internet connection (yanked from my dead S2 :(). Everything went smoothly and amazingly fast.

I forced a couple calls and got what appeared to be a SW update that took a while to load.

My system is now reporting ver: 8.0.1b-01-2-648

Is this the most current? The reason I ask is that the clock on the unit is an hour behind; so, it appears I have yet to get the DST adjustment. Is there a way to adjust the clock?

Thanks

No. 8.1 is the most current version. It will come with clock adjustment. Force another call.

I think you should force another connection if your TiVo's network connection/phone screen says it will call back tomorrow for guide data. Do a manual restart of the TiVo if the network connection/phone screen says "PENDING RESTART"

It needs to be restarted to get the update.

I had done a restart or two along the way and did not see the pending restart message at last check.

I'll force another call tonite.

Not too urgent as the CCs do not arrive until Friday.

Yes....but...you will not receive an 8.1.0 update now will you? :)

Still I stand corrected.

I don't believe service updates are retroactive. They have to be done sequentially. Mine did a service update shortly after I set it up. Then it did 8.1.1 when they threw the switch a month or so later. The OP's hasn't gotten the 2nd update yet. It will. Reboot then force the call.

Service updates don't have to be done sequentially. The OP's box should update directly from 8.0.1b to 8.1.1 (it doesn't go through 8.0.1c).

The SW update will typically happen on the second call after Guided Setup. The first call after Guided Setup downloads the rest of the 2 weeks of guide data (and is thus a pretty long call), then the next call would pick up the update.

I saw the pending restart message last night. Clock is now correct, all is well.

Let's just hope the CC install goes well on Friday!
