Hmmm .. it was really wierd to hear an american accent on Claudia Black..

Still a good episode .. seemed to have kept the 'hockey stick can do wonders' theme from the last / first episode

So what determines when dresden carries a wand vs the hockey stick? Is the wand for minor demons and the hockey stick for major badness?

And has it ever been explained why a drumstick for a wand, and why a hockey stick for the BFG?

For us neophytes that haven't read the books.

He never uses a hockey stick in the book.
He uses a rod for his boom stick. Never really explains it as more then a rod (stick). Not more then 24 inches long as I remember.
I like the hockey stick. Right now I want to see if they will show Faire. Bring in his friend Micheal or any of the war between the vamps and the White Council.
Could be some really good stuff.

I noticed during this episode that Dresden's real british accent slipped through.

i think its time i aquire the books .. they seem like they would be something I enjoy..

As for the hockey stick / drum stick .. i think its to maintain appearence as an ordinary object..

And really, its easier to get a nice sized drumstick then scour the woods for an appropriatly knobby stick that looks 'wandish'

It is a delight to see Claudia Black back on the tube again.

I swear that woman could make a reading of the phone book funny and sexy! :)

Good thing about hockey sticks...if your magic is blocked...you can still whack something upside its heads.

I, for one, hope that Claudia's role is recurring.

And in a worst-case scenario, you could poke its eye out with the drum stick...

But it would be more icky to touch some oozy creature with a drumstick that might ooze on your fingers than to stick out that long hockey stick and poke the gooey blob.

Right, which is why it's a worst-case scenario!

Um, did you see the end sequence for the waxy hand of glory with the drumstick last week?
