My new S3 is on the DHL truck this morning, scheduled for delivery today. Yay! :D

In preparation for the new unit and to accommodate our new TV, I moved the S2 and other assorted equipment into a new cabinet. I knew my S2 was feeling ill over the last couple months, with periodic skipping and pixellation and occasional high-pitched whining of the drive(s).

The S2 actually died this weekend :(, while the S3 is on the truck for delivery!:) We've had LOTS of good use from the S2 since Mar2002; sad to see it go. I doubt I'll be fixing this unit, unless I find it a new home with a family member. We do have another S2 nightlight version in the house as our backup/2nd tuner. I'm not sure if we'll be keeping this S2 unit for much longer either.

Part of my decision to go with the S3 was that I'd probably need to shell out more $$'s to get the S2 back up and running some time soon, little did I know how soon! Looks like I made the right decision.

I'm looking forward to receiving the new S3 unit!

Comcast = all fingers & toes crossed!

Friday 8-11 am window. I needed to tell the guy in the phone this required TWO cable cards. Not a great start! :)

What many people don't realize is all of these devices belong to the same union. When one hears it's being replaced, or a newer model is on the way, it will often go on strike, which to you and me is indistinguishable from "dying". Never ever talk about a new electronic gizmo in the same room as an older unit. Computers, DVRs, hard drives, etc. :p

May you have many hours of enjoyment from your S3!

Do you have a Lifetime Subscription on your S2?

barbeedoll,

Sorry, no lifetime on THAT unit. I waited way too long to jump on the lifetime bandwagon for this unit. Though, 60 months @ somewhere between $12 and $6.95/mo would have easily paid for itself.
