I had a lot of problems with my TiVo recording of this weeks (Peyton Manning) SNL episode. Worse than the previous week's monologue, which was an NBC problem. Several minutes of unwatchable dropouts and loss of sound/picture. Did anyone else have a problem? It was Comcast South Jersey. I haven't had any other problems with my signal on any other shows.

I watched it live on my Samsung 19" HDTV via cable box and it was just fine. I thought he was pretty good too, specially in that one skit where he was a commentator and they started talking about doing a "Payton Manning."
The best way to check on these type of things are to go to your local thread on the AVS boards and see if anyone else in your area had trouble. Also you can post on the HD Television show link or just check to see if anyone else in the nation had problems.

Same here. I was afraid it's my HDD dying.

It may not be your problem, but I had a similar one before I replaced my regular splitter with a powered one.
Many shows would record fine on the cable company's dvr, but not on the S3.
After adding the powered splitter, the S3 has had no problems.

Someone in PA on the AVS board said they had the same problem, so hopefully it's not the drive or the S3.

Now don't you feel better?
If this is your first go around with a HD DVR or HD in general you will have some times when drop out occur. Just out of curiousity, any thunderstorms in that region around then? That caused some problems in my area a little while back.

Hi. I'm in the Philly area (Valley Forge) with Fios. Both Saturday's on SNL I had problems with the beginning of the show. The signal would keep dropping out.
It's the only time with Fios I every had a problem. I find it odd that both times, it happened on the same program, same day, and same time. Weird.

I had the same problem with lots of dropouts on SNL via OTA. I haven't had any other problems with NBC or other stations. Hopefully it's not your tivo.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? It happened in PA. Both of these guys live in PA. Someone in the AVS forum said there was a problem with drop outs on SNL in PA. Did you read the whole thread?
Look, drop outs happen. It's not a a defect from the S3 that one show even on different nights happened to have some problems. They are going to happen from time to time whether it's OTA, Cable, satallite, Vios or whatever.
Not to take away from the problems some of you are experiencing. But this is just one case, easy to explain and it shouldn't become another major "drop outs" thread.
