I watched the whole thing for obvious reasons :) and loved it. I like the fact that the guy can laugh at himself.

Didn't click the link, but watched much of the show live. He was funny and self deprecating, but he had a habit of staring at the cue cards. I know he's not an actor, but he does memorize 1000's of plays, so I expected a little more retention of a few skits. I'm a Peyton fan and felt he handled himself well.

But for every line he could keep in his brain, he would have to throw out a play. I would rather he stared at cue cards for a show he will most likely appear in only once, than refer to the playbook before every play for the rest of his career :).

The thing is, I can't tell what he says at the end about living in his mansion.

But they bleep it out at the end. That is why I can't tell what he is saying. Not a big deal, was still very funny. I liked his opening segment of SNL as well.

They bleeped him because they had him say "F'ing" for effect.

I only watch SNL once a year, and always by accident. I just happened to catch last night's. He was hysterical. He's got pretty good timing and like was mentioned before he can laugh at himself. I'm a Chiefs fan, so I can't like him too much, but he's pretty funny.

Who do I have to write to at NBC to get them to release an uncensored version like they did with "D*ck in a Box"? :D

The skit with the NCAA pool was pretty damn funny.

anybody have another link to the skit with the kids? It isn't on YouTube any more.
By the way he said "Settle Down, I am just f'ing with you"

I have bashed this show with regularity the past two seasons, but, if you remove the perennially unfunny Weekend Update, this was the best show in a LONG time.

I only noticed it during the talk show sketch. And even then I wasn't sure if he was looking at them or at cue cards. It is oddly staged.
And I don't think he looked at the cue cards for the dance number that involved some decently complex interaction.

It's available on the official SNL site through NBC...

The minute he started calling audibles at the line, I lost it. :)

It was pretty obvious durring the party sketch, he got better as the sketch progressed.

They should have had a sketch where it's bombing really badly, then Peyton breaks character and calls an audible and everyone rearranges and then the sketch ends up being funny.
Of course, I guess the hard part for them would have been writing the funny half. :p

I have to agree here....they could have written better skits for him....or not?
I dunno, wasn't impressed. I chuckled a few times but thought they could have down more with Manning..... :shrugsshoulders:

That would have been funny in and of itself... regardless of the skit changing... in fact, they could have done it multiple times with a couple (awful) jokes between each audible...

I thought he was great, the sports stars often are.
He made that joke where he said "I was so scared a little bit of pee came out" I'm sure I've heard that before on the show, can anyone remember that joke/line being used before ?

He was not too bad looking at cue cards compared to many, dare I say, most guests. I was actually quite impressed with peyton, although I do think they didn't write a lot of lines for him, so it might just seem impressive because they knew his limitations.

I give people who aren't used to being in front of a live audience a little more leeway with the cue cards thing. It's incredibly unnerving-I'm sure, even for a pro-football player-to have a bunch of faces looking at you waiting to hear you spout off your line. Nothing'll make a line go from your head faster, in fact. :)

The Dora parody is the one that got me rolling on the ground.
Mostly a funny episode, one of the best in recent memory. Lets hope the writers can keep it up.
