I have been having problems using the transfer of shows between Tivo's. It isn't fast enough to stream to the other Dtivo's.
I want to upgrade my router and possibly my wireless bridges to what is working best for people.
Therefore I would like to take a poll.
Also if any of you are using a special firmware such as DD-WRT or Tomato on Linksys, Buffalo routers can you comment on how well those are working. I am leaning towards a DD-WRT setup for the router and two bridges.
Also if you can note what type of USB ethernet device you are using. I am currently using the FA120 and 2 Airlink ASHOHUSB.
So if you can post your setup that would be great. Just would like to get an idea of what is working the best for people.

Netgear FA120 and Zyxel P330W 802.11g router/bridge plugged into one DTivo. The other is connected via ethernet cable to an Apple Airport Express acting as a bridge. I can transfer a 1 hour show via MRV in about 12 minutes.

That is fast. So is the zyxel your router that is connected with the ethernet cable to your Dtivo?

I get a one hour show in about 10-15 minutes, haven't actually timed it out!
I use a Dlink DI-634M MIMO router, one Tivo plugged into it, and the other TiVo is plugged into a Netgear WGPS606, which is actually a print server, but has a 4-port switch built-in also! Both use Linksys USB200M USB 2.0 ethernet adapters, one is a ver.1 and the other is a ver.2.
I haven't heard the greatest reviews on the Buffalo units. The linksys stuff is pretty solid, out of the box, or DD-wrt firmware.
Right now, I'm in the market for another wireless ethernet bridge, just trying to decide what will best fit the bill, a single port, or another with a multi-port switch built in.

To get more accurate transfer info if you used zipper and install the performance tool, from tenet type "speed" and post the throughput #. For example I have 3 708's hooked up FA120's using 2 belkin routers in bridge mode and 1 belkin router for the main router. For the 2 708's that are on the same bridge I get between 11.74 and 14.23 Mbps and when going to the one on the other bridge I get between 2.65 and 3.38.
Much more objective.

I'm showing 13.51 with my setup. Does that seem a bit high for wireless?

My setup DTivo's are connected wirelessly - communicating thru two 802.11g wireless bridges. It's very fast and reliable.

The speed is dependent on a lot of things, Signal strength, physical configuration of the network, network usage at the time you do the test, what your tivo's are doing when you do the test. So No it is just the nuber you got at the time.
When you look at my results above the one where I got numbers in the teens, They are both wired into the same wireless bridge which connects to the main router. Neither was recording or doing anything at the time. I would be interested in what the actual signal path is. Does the signal go from the tivo out to the bridge, to the main router, back to the bridge, to the other tivo? or does the signal go out of the tivo to the bridge (that has 4 inputs), to the other tivo. I suspect it is never going wireless.

I am getting a thorouput of 2.05 from one wireless bridge to another wireless bridge. Is there any way to speed this up?
