Hello,
I've got an older Series 1. It's currently on it's 3rd hard drive. It's started getting jittery and skipping during playback, and has a couple times hung, with video frozen on the screen.
The last time I forced a reboot it gave me a green screen and said sometime to the effect of "The Tivo has experienced a serious error and needs 3 hours to attempt a recovery".
Is it time to pull the drive and replace it with a new one? Or is my beloved finally at the end of it's life?
(for what it's worth, in the event this drive is totally dead, I have the original drive stored safely away, but I suspect I would have problems with the software not being updated.)
If so, what's a good drive to replace them with? I see it's hard to find a 5400rpm 160GB drive these days. Anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks in advance.
