Anyone interested in a free Linux-based MCE package that does what XP/Vista MCE does, and more, and could also replace Sky+ and/or Tivo?

And this is where it lives: http://www.linuxmce.com/
The promo video makes a lot of sense.
I don't like Linux at all but even I'm tempted to install it on one of my secondary drives.

Oh well. Nice idea. Shame about the implementation.
I downloaded the Ubuntu boot CD, which is required to run the MCE add-on.
Sadly the boot CD just wouldn't boot. I got a pretty logo and sliding progress bar, but that's all. I gave up 20 minutes later.
Back to Windows which just keeps on working.

Its an offshoot of "pluto":

Pluto looks interesting also. Until I got to the installation notes in the FAQ:
Use the core's DHCP server to give machines on your network a dynamic IP address. Turn off the DHCP server on any other devices you may have on your network!
And this requirement, which made me think today was April 1:
A map of your home. This is actually a very important step because Pluto seems to need the map to properly finish the installation of some devices.

This look pretty cool. I'm just in the process of putting together the hardware for a MythTV system - I may end up playing with this instead.
On the same google video page I saw this:

It is a video of a quite astounding juggler. Well worth watching.
