Can anyone tell why my wireless set-up will not connect my Tivo to internet.

My main PC in the back bedroom has a Belkin Wireless router connected to it(via ethernet cable). In the Lounge is my other PC which has a Belkin wireless adapter connected via USB, also from Lounge PC I have an ethernet cable connected leading to a Turbonet card fitted to the Tivo.
When I bought the Tivo I was instructed to create a bridge(between wireless link and local Area Connection, of which I did, but it doesn't work as Local Area Connection keeps saying that it's not connected and when I ask Tivo to Dial via web it keeps coming up with "number unavailable"
The Tivo was in regular use prior to my purchase and had always downloaded via the internet.

Also as soon as bridge is connected I am unable to use the internet as "no connection" keeps coming up ??. As I am a novice to all of this I would be very Grateful for some guidance.

Getting Desperate now.
Thanks Tony. :(

OK, I think we need to break this down a bit! To confirm:

1) You have a wireless router successfully connecting to the outside world

2) Your main (bedroom) PC can connect to the internet through a wired connection to the router

3) Your second (lounge) PC can connect to the internet OK through a wireless connection

4) Your second (lounge) PC can connect to the Tivo OK through a wired connection

I am guessing that either 3 or 4 is failing? My money would be on #4...what sort of cable did you use to connect the PC to the Tivo? I don't think a normal ethernet cable will work, you will need a crossover cable. Or connect both the lounge PC and Tivo to a hub, you can use normal ethernet cables for that

This might help:

Best solution would be to buy a wireless game adapter so the TiVo can talk directly to your router.

A game adapter sounds the best bet, thanks.
I had to reverse things around, with router now in lounge and adapter in bedroom(as tivo did not like talking to wireless adapter)even after a forced bridge was made between LAN and Wireless adapter. Everything working fine now, and to get rid of extension phone line to router(which is now in lounge, and I dont have a BT socket there) I am off to the shops to purchase a Bridge.

Thank you very much.
Tony.
