this has happened a few times: when attempting a multiroom transfer, the receiving S2 restarts, and then questions about whether to use progressive or interlaced output upon startup. i dont really know how to answer this query. my HDtv supports both (not 1080P) so is this in reference to the dvd output? please advise.

Guessing your tv can either do 720p or 1080i right?

You didn't say what model TiVo you are using. If your TiVo has component outputs and they're connected to the TV, then you can use progressive even for the TiVo out. If you are using S-Video or composite, then you'd likely be best off using interlaced.

sorry, its a humax drt400, and i had it on progressive output. every time i try to do a transfer from my other S2, i get reboots on the humax. i thought this was addressed in 8.1. anyhoo, i've got to cold boot the humax to get it back on track, keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a DRT800 and am using component out and progressive output. I think it is standard behavior on the Humax DVD units hooked via component to ask you to confirm use of progressive output whenever it boots. I think this is because not all TVs support progressive out and you could end up in a situation where you couldn't see anything if you did not have a progressive scan capable TV. In my experience, this screen times out if you're not around and the DVR uses progressive anyway so not sure how much good this does.

well, i guess that answers that. the rebooting issue i believe was caused by my wireless adapters. i've since switched to the tivo brand 'g' adapters, and have had no issues with mrv.
