I wish to record from RF terrestrial say channels BBC1,2,ITV,C4 & Five. I also wish to record from my STB. My probem is that I set tivo to record from say BBC1 channel 38 on RF. When the channel records it selects channel 1 on the STB and records this. If I start a recording manually on an RF channel it works fine?
Please help.
My stb fequently crashes and it would be nice to have the flexability to record from RF as well but it's just confusing the Tivo not to mention me!
Thanks in advance

I think you are out of luck. Tivo will always record from the best quality source available , so if BBC1 is available via scart then it will record it from there.

thanks I've gone to customise channels and de-selected the cable channels 1-5 and also 855 etc which also had BBC1...Five showing and it's now showing as the correct RF channels in season pass. Clever piece of kit to be able to change the source automatically on the season passes.

Is there a particular reason that you wish for channels 1 - 5 to default to RF bearing in mind that recording quality will not be as good as through your STB

Doesn't it decide that by highest channel number,
e.g. if bbc1 is on 1, 55 and 101 it will choose 101 regardless of physical connection?
ISTR some discussion on scenarios where this failed (freeview on scart vs rf channel numbers?)
Anyway the fix is the same, remove duplicate channels from your lineup ;)

I tried just de-selecting 1-5 first but then my season passes were recording from 855 etc, once I took these off it's recording from the rf now ie 38,40,56 etc. So I would say it goes for best source first rather than lowest channel.

"I can not record from TiVo's internal tuner
If you have the same channels on a STB then you can't record from the terrestrial (internal tuner) versions. TiVo always uses the best quality source available for a particular channel (usually the one via the AUX SCART). To record from a particular source remove the channel on the other source from Channels You Receive."

Anyway the fix is the same, remove duplicate channels from your lineup ;)It first goes with the best quality - and then by highest number if the selected input has more than one channel assigned.
Also, it is not the channel (BBC1) is records from but the callsign.
So (for example) for BBC1 - you could select your local RF region on say 38 - but an alternate region on the stb - say BBC1 London 974.
This will allow you you pick which source you want at any time.
TiVo has no concept that BBC1LDN and BBC1WEST are the same(ish) channels.
