Ok, I have a GXCEBOT that I upgraded with an IntantCake 200GB drive right after the 3.5 upgrade fiasco. I also added a CacheCard and was using TivoWeb and TyTool.
Last weekend I got the timechange update so I pulled the drive, used the free LBA48 CD to run copykern and then used the SiliconDust CD to add the CacheCard drivers. I did NOT run tivoflash or any other kill_initrd (that's what tivoflash does, right?). All was fine, I used Netready and then added TWP and the TyTool server, found and added the offset and all was fine :)
Then today the unit started to reboot whenever my son watched one of his recordings- but I figured the problem was that that recording was made between the timechange upgrade and my pulling the drive and fixing it- so I deleted that recording and hoped all was well. No, it started rebooting on another recording from yesterday. I noticed that there seemed to have been some kind of service download last night, so I figured the problem was that I hadn't run tivoflash...so...
I pulled the drive again, ran copykern, reinstalled the CacheCard drivers, but this time I then ran tivoflash. Put the drive back in and it booted, I get the CacchCard screens and the usual powering up sequence, but about 30 seconds after I get programing it reboots.
Help!
Have I missed something stupid, is the new kernel not taking (I tell the LBA48 disk "mount /dev/hdd /cdrom"), or what? And how do I tell if the copykern has worked?
At this stage I just need a working DTivo box, I'll resign myself to losing my existing recordings if I must, does anyone know if InstantCake has been upgraded since the timechange upgrade, 'cos I'll pay foy a new download of that if that's what it takes!
Any help will be very gratefully received!
