how do i transfer video?

I am trying to tansfer video from my pc to series 3 tivo.
I updated tivo desktop from 2.3a to 2.4.
I put videos in "my tivo recordings" folder.
Video titles do appear in tivo desktop list.
I am told to select my computer from Now Playing List.
Problem is, my computer is not listed on the Now Playing List.
I can get photos and music from pc to tivo, but not videos.
When I search tivo site, threads are from 2004-2005.
I am a novice , please answer in simple terms.
Any Help? Thanks

It can't be done. Not yet, anyway. It's been disabled by TiVo.

Just to clarify, it's disabled on the series 3 -- you can do it on a series 2.

Is there any reason to believe that this might be allowed in the near future?
What about tivo to pc transfers?
Is this a legal issue? If so, why is it o.k. for the series 2?
Do I ask too many questions??????????
I wonder if this is turning into a pay-per-view type of situation.
I can do that thru my cable company.
I expected better from tivo.
