No Sound

Since resolving recent probelms with a transparent proxy server blocking my data downloads - I have now got another problem - no sound

The Digibox is outputting sound and vision.

I have tested the Scart leads ok

On Tivo Live TV and recordings have no sound. Tested this on both aerial leads and scart leads.


The problem seems to start where the scart leads enter the Tivo
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Reboot the machine from the system menu or via telnet (not by pulling the plug), then do a search on this forum for "no sound" ;)

Thank you blindlemon just did the restart and eveything is back to normal

Having the same problem with my TiVo (no sound on live tv or new recordings, old recordings were fine) I searched the forum and found this thread. I had already tried rebooting by unplugging to no avail. The menu driven reboot worked a treat. My only question is what's the difference?

When you rebooting at the mains, did you also unplug the stb?

With the menu reboot the power supply unit load is lower as the hard drive/s are already up to speed.

The problem seems to be when the load is high on the power unit and the problem is made worse by larger hard drives / turbonet / cachecards are fitted.
