Hi, tivo user for 2 years. However had to move out of my house and left tivo for my son. When looking into a new tivo on the 3 year prepaid deal for $299, when you look at the details it says includes tivo box. However when you add to cart they want to charge you for the box also.($99) So it brings it up to 400. Does any one know what the price is. If I call will they give it to me for $299 because I cant on the web site. Thanks

It says on the Tivo.com Store that the box fee is 99.99. The $299 is for the service. It even gives you a subtotal of $398.99 at the bottom. You aren't going to get Tivo to give you a 3 year plan for $299 with a box.

That offer is based on an 80Hr Series 2 Single tuner, which they no longer offer.
The DT model requires an "upgrade" fee.

That deal is for a series 2 single tuner which Tivo does not sell through their site anymore. The $99.99 is the "upgrade" fee to go from the single tuner to the dual tuner.

Edit: It has been awhile since I have had a good smeek.

Ok, thanks. I'll probably just go to a store to get it right away, (cant stand not having tivo), then wait for the rebate.( I had no trouble getting my rebate on my first tivo.) Or can I get the 6.99 for second tivo and forgo the rebate. I use wireless so they dont know where its located. Do they still give you two weeks service before you have to sign up.

It is possible to get the rebate as well as MSD pricing. For MSD the terms state that the units have to be in the same location. You are on your own if you want to ignore/violate those terms. I can say though I have heard of reports from users on this board in which Tivo does check and have changed the subscription price on units that don't follow the terms, however, these are few and far between so what you do is up to you.
