Hi,

I would like to order 1 DirecTV Tivo box... I can find it only at http://www.weaknees.com, is that normal?

If I buy one there, do I have to get a subscription on the direcTV website?
It is not very clear in my mind!

Thank you very much,

SM

Yes that is normal, since Directivos are no longer manufactured, they are getting harder to find. You will need to subscribe by calling Directv.

They are no longer manufactured?

Mmmmm, do you recommend to buy one, so?
Or do I have to buy a DirecTV box + a Tivo? In that case, which configuration is the best?

Thanks

They are no longer manufactured, but they are available from resellers and used on eBay and the like. DirecTV offers their own DVR which is not TiVo-powered. You can find out more about those at www.dbstalk.com

As stated, Directv/Tivo units are no longer produced.

There are sellers around that sell them, or look on EBay.

You must have Directv Service to use, and when you activate the Unit, be sure to tell them it is a Directv/Tivo unit and to activate tivo Service to.

You only pay One Bill, to Directv not tivo.

Most important, tell DirecTV that you purchased the box outright and that it is NOT to be marked as leased.
