I confirmed this morning that I'm still signed up but I haven't gotten a Rocketboom from TiVoCast since Fri or Sat.

Anyone else?

I am getting my other TiVoCasts just fine (NYT, Heavy).

I'm on a Series3, FYI.

I got one yesterday, and noticed that it was dated the 7th. FWIW.

The Rocketboom episodes that I get are always downloaded a day later than they are dated. That's not a problem.

I want to know why the downloads are inconsistant.
Assuming Rocketboom puts out 5 episodes a week, how come I only get 2 or 3 of them?

I check available episodes on Tivocast against my recording history. Sure enough, I got Monday and Tuesday's episode, but Wednesday's epidsode was not downloaded because
"it could not be found".
WTF does that mean? Rocketboom's URL? What would make the Tivo "not find" something today when it "found" it yesterday?

And I already know the answer to the 2 main questions I'm going to be asked:

1. No, I do NOT have too many eps. in the folder. I have limit set to 10 eps. and never keep more than 5 eps. (If I even GET that many. )

2. Yes, my network is working fine. I don't have a problem with ANY other HME app. that I use.

I appologize in advance. This wasn't supposed to turn into a rant. :o

As far as I can see - it's not worth having Rocketboom on TIVOCast anymore. If it is not going to be consistent or timely, it's a waste of time.

I'm really, really disappointed.

I've stopped getting them. There for a while they were coming every day. I guess starting last Friday, I have not gotten one.

Rocketboom and for that matter matter heavy have always been very spotty for me. I don't think i have ever gotten a whole weeks worth of either. This week i got one rocketboom (today) which is actually the Wednesday show. I have given up on getting them regularly and am happy when i get any. On top of that quite a few of them (both rocketboom and heavy) are not the complete shows, they are cut short.

Rocketboom has been having issues with their ISP during a site upgrade, and it's led to some difficulty producing the feed for us on a timely manner. We've worked with them this week to help them with their production processes. If you use the rocketboom.com site, you would have noticed a lot of the same issues. They didn't produce a show for Friday, March 9, nor Monday, March 12, and no show has appeared for today, Friday, March 16.

Andrew from Rocketboom assures me that things will be back on track for both their regular site feeds and for their TiVo feed next week.

Centyr, Heavy is produced every Monday and the producers there are very reliable -- they've never missed a deadline. Please make sure you haven't reached your Keep At Most limit. You can download any past programs you might have missed. We are aware of one show from Rocketboom being truncated (February 7th), but if you ever see anything else cut short, please let us know. Everything else has passed our QA as being complete. (Although sometimes Rocketboom can end very abruptly; but if you check rocketboom.com, the video there matches what's on your DVR.)

Just to give a detailed rundown of what happened:

Friday, March 16: No episode produced yet
Thursday, March 15: Available today from tivo.com/tivocast; most customers will receive tomorrow automatically.
Wednesday, March 14: Available yesterday, went out this morning
Tuesday, March 13: Never distributed due to production and ISP problems.
Monday, March, 12: No episode produced
Friday, March 9: No episode produced.
Thursday, March 8: Never distributed due to production and ISP problems.
Wednesday, March 7: Distributed late (Monday of this week)
Tuesday, March 6: Distributed late (Thursday last week)
Monday, March 5: On time, available Monday, most customers received Tuesday
Friday, March 2: Never distributed due to production issues.

In all of February there were 3 episodes that were missed.

Neither Rocketboom nor TiVo is satisfied with the current level of reliability of TiVoCast's only daily program, and we will work to improve the reliability.

thanks for the reply. i know there has been at least few that have obviously been cut short rocketboom and heavy. as for heavy i haven't been getting them on a weekly basis (i did get one this week yea!) and i don't have any more than one at a time in my now playing list. Also might i suggest raising the limit on the number of shows in the now playing list before you quit sending them. especially for something like rocketboom that is suppose to come daily, 4 recordings is not even a weeks worth. which is frustrating if you travel allot or only watch most of your shows on the weekend. I realize you don't want to be using up unnecessary bandwidth but 4 is a bit on the low side.

I emailed Rocketboom (andrew Baron) and Andrew emailed back and said that the issues are all on Rocketboom's side of things. He apologized and said he'd try harder to get it out every day on time.

FWIW he said that to me a couple of months ago when I emailed him too.

I found the pricing to be just right. Well done Amazon/TiVo!

And yes, Rocketboom has stunk big time since the girl with the amazing sweater puppies left.

It's Wed. Still none since late last week.

Wonder how that "try harder" is working.

/remembers shades of TiVo's "we're working hard" Mac excuses...

EDIT: I did receive Tuesday's Rocketboom on Wednesday.

No, what I was talking about was the free TiVoCast weekly 10-15 minute package that would tell you what new releases were offered on Amazon Unbox.

So far, just the one "weekly" TiVoCast was sent :(

The few episodes I received were utter crap anyway. I've removed it.

How about dl.tv or something from twit.tv? (You know, good content, unlike that cnet fluff.)

MacBreak would be nice. It's in HD. Here's an RSS feed:

feed://feeds.pixelcorps.com/feeds/macbreak1080.xml

What else does TiVo need to make this available on my Series 3?

Seems like a match made in heaven... and would go a long way to making this Mac fan start thinking fondly of TiVo again. :)

I too am still having problems with rocketboom i got the 3/19 show on 3/21 and it is cut short. It ends right after the fusion reactor. I also got the 3/20 show on 3/22, it was the complete show at least this time. Thats the only 2 i have gotten this week.

I did however get a heavy just fine this week. So just rocketboom seems to be still screwy.

Yes, got one too.

And then there was Product Watch. I signed up because I'm in the market for a new car. Got lots of commercials for SUVs and it was great. Then they stopped.

Whats the deal Tivo? Its very frustrating.
