im not sure why i think this but for some reason i rember reading when i first got my tivo box that i could with a connection to the internet i could use tivo games. if that did exist does it still?

Yes.

You have to be broadband connected, and they're found under the "Music, Photos, Products, & More" on the Tivo Central menu.
