direcTV Tivo in LaPaz Mexico

This is my post...

I have DirecTV account here in Calif. We have purchased a home in LaPaz.
After reading many threads about service in other countries, I
connect(bought 18" dish kit) my Tivo in LaPaz. I couldn't get a signal.
I was told I would need a larger dish (3-5ft diam). Had dish installed,
Found signal, I'm able to pick up 6 or 7 channels, ABC CBS,NBC,Fox,CourtTV and
Discovery. All the rest show searching for signal...

Would appreciate any help I can get as to getting all the channels.

You're really on the edge of DirecTV's satellite coverage. I'm surprised you can pick up anything. What do you see when checking the signal readings on the various transponders?

What is the use of having a vacation home in La Paz if you're just going to watch television??? :cool:
I'll do one of those vacation home swaps I've heard about. You come up to Oregon for the months of November thru March and watch my DTV premier service and I'll use your place in La Paz? ;)

Our home in LaPaz is our 2nd home from late Nov to early May.
We love to fish, snorkel and share our good fortunes with
our Mexican neighbors. We really didn't think it would work
here. Now we have the locals news plus no need to install
Sky Sat which is the service provided here in LaPaz
