If I want to update to newest zipper can I just install over my old one?

I guess I don't have the Airlink drivers on my old ZIppered Tivo. I would like to reinstall zipper on my tivo.

Can I do it over the network with the zipper cd or do I need to install this connecting to the IDE cable?

WIll I lose my old shows and season passes?

zipper won't wipe your shows unless you tell it to.

Do it over the network. FTP the latest tweak.sh to your tivo and run it. It will download and install that latest version of everything and install the backported drivers. No need for the zipper cd again because your tivo is already hacked.

Problem is he lost his network connection, so he can't just run tweak and get the download (I might be wrong about that) but it would have to happen over the serial cable. You could try that or do a serial transfer of the rbautch_files.tgz file from zipper to the /hacks, then re-run tweak.

I still have connection but just want the new version for the new drivers. I get an error saying I need to uninstall the script before installing the new version. What command do I type to uninstall?

Try sh tweak_uninstall.sh (or sh tweak-uninstall.sh depending on how old your Zipper install is). You could also download, ftp to Tivo and run the latest tweak.sh found in the first post of the "Enhance your...." thread. In fact, if you do run uninstall, you'll need to run the new tweak anyway.
