Well all was fine until I "luckily" got the 6.2a slices in the stream last night.
Used slicer and got them installed.
Got the 30 sec skip working also.
Then I got cocky and tried to get the bufferhack going.
Now I am stuck on the "unleashed" screen.
I yanked the drive and tried removing tivoapp and copied over tivoapp.orig
It still won't boot.
What else can I try before I go back to 6.2?
What about copying the tivoapp from my other good SDTiVO.

If switching back to your original tivoapp didn't change the problem, then there may be a problem in MFS
There are some strange things with the new 6.2a, it seems "fragile"... things causing reboot loops and hanging that shouldn't... it's troubling

I used bufferhack on 6.2a the other day without a problem.....
Did you get the latest bufferhack?

Yes I did, but that is really a moot point. I am trying to get my TiVO back to working without starting over.

Just so you all know, there is a version of bufferhack that claims to support 6.2a. This version of bufferhack is not an official release and is generally unsupported in the common way as it was not released by the bufferhack team. At some point, there may be an "official" release, but none exists for now.

I made it and it has been tested on 20 Tivos (I outfitted my block with Dtivos. They bought them online and I modded them free. The catch is we have a shared network. We share shows. :-D

JJBliss"Just so you all know, there is a version of bufferhack that claims to support 6.2a." OK, in the spirit of TCF, could you please let us know where it is?
And when you say "This version of bufferhack is not an official release" what are you talking about???? Nobody in this thread has referred to a "version" they have been vague enough that it is impossible to determine what "version" they are referring to. (Chris's comment doesn't count - it was after you made your statement) ;) . Other than one referrence to the "latest bufferhack", whatever that is? Maybe it's the one you were referring to??

6.2a fragile? Wow, I did not know that! My TiVo's have been more stable than they were before the update! Maybe I'm just lucky! I also have that version of bufferhack running, can't remember for sure where I got it though, I think it was on the OTHER (ddb) forum.
Anyway, for the OP, can you swap bootpages to go back to 6.2 and attempt to do the upgrade again? I'm not a TiVo upgrade / hack guru, just throwing an idea out that I would be tepted to try!

I made it.Well aware of that, if you look at post #6 in that thread. ;)
The DDB tone of the post just set me off. :o ;)
Too bad you're not a member of the "team", then maybe you adding Jeboo's patch to the .tcl file could gain "official release" status.
Don't feel too bad that your version is "generally unsupported in the common way as it was not released by the bufferhack team."
But you haven't really achieved immortality until your script is referred to as "deprecated." :D
WTF is this term "generally unsupported in the common way"?? Sounds like something Jerry Falwell would say!! :p
Damn, I'm older than Spiro Agnew was when he was taking jabs at "effete intellectual snobs", and I'm beginning to agree with him!!

Cool neighborhood watch program!
Any houses for sale on your block?

I'm using the Chris22 version of bufferhack on a SDDvr40 running 6.2a via the BTUx9 method with no problems at all. Buffer is set to 90 minutes.

After seeing Les_D's comment I got to thinking about this. How could you hook a whole block of neighbors up to a network and "share shows". The logisitcs are mind boggling. And Chris didn't say it was an apartment complex, he specifically said "my block".
Then it dawned on me...... OMG, Chris is in cell block "C"!! :D
