On my 80hr Series 2 Dual Tuner, I'm getting a blue box with a message inside that says "Searching for signal on: Basic Cable in. Switch tuners for more info." The box and message wouldn't go away.

I found that the problem was that one of the tuners was tuned to a channel that isn't one of the channels I receive from my cable provider. The fix was to switch the TiVo to the tuner that was tuned to the non-existing channel and change it to a channel I actually receive. The blue box then went away.

This should help anyone who is getting the same message. :)

Well it states that right on the blue screen. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure it out.

Take it easy buddy, I'm just trying to be helpful.

This same kind of situation occurs with my HR10 if I have one tuner on a non-existent OTA channel and I'm on the other tuner, the banner is there complaining about the lack of signal. Switch to the bad tuner and tune to a good channel. :)

Thanks but the instructions are right on the screen. Maybe I should start a new thread titled "The sky is blue"

Thanks for trying to help the others

Don't mind the mindless posts poking fun... we all are here for some fun and to learn.

Or one titled "aadam101 has nothing to contribute but thread crapping"
