I just upgraded my HR10-250 to 6.3c using the latest slicer and now my network is not working.

I also cannot connect via serial. I can see all of the login information scroll while it is booting, but at the end I cannot get a bash prompt.

Anyway, I put the drive into the computer to check out the lib/modules directory and my /dev/hda7 dir has dates of 12/1. /dev/hda4 has dates of 2/9 except for:
usbnet.o
usbcore.o
usb-ohci.o
pegasus.o
ehci-hod.o
which have dates of 12/1

But from the log file spooled out from my serial connection seems to say that it is loading my old hda7 filesystem:

Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda7 brev=0x100A dsscon=true console=2,9600

Also, later in the log file this line:

NewSoftware: SwSystem 6.3b-01-2-357 is already active.

Do I need to change my bootpage?

Attached is my boot log.

Also, my adapter is the Netgear FA120

Thanks!

I think I know why I cannot get a bash prompt. It seems that my /dev/hda7 root does not have my author file. I tried to copy over the one that got copied to /dev/hda4 but when I rebooted, the scan removed it.

Is there a way to disable that scan?

Is there another way to set the bootpage when I have my drive loaded in my PC. I have MFS Tools 2.0 boot cd running.

Should I just re-zipper the drive?

Thanks!

OK Nevermind...

Wasn't thinking to use my Zipper boot disk instead of the MFS Tools boot disk.

Boot partition swapped and now network is back!

Well I am able to swap back to my old version, but each time I run the slicer I lose bash and telnet. I can still ping the box.

Here is my SwSystem:

Directory listing of /SwSystem
Name Type Id Date Time Size
6.3b-01-2-357 tyDb 245649 03/13/07 11:07 796
6.3c-01-2-357 tyDb 493155 03/13/07 11:07 772
ACTIVE tyDb 245649 03/13/07 11:07 796

I run the slicer and verify that all of the hacks, author file, etc are in the /install share and then reboot. When it comes up, I cannot telnet or bash.

I have noticed that my boot parameter statement keeps getting reset each time the box reboots so the upgradesoftware=false switch is no longer there. How do I keep the boot parameter from resetting?

Thanks!
