UNhack a HR10-250

Hey all.

I'm thinking about giving this HR10-250 that I hacked to a friend. He wants to add it to his service but thanks to the hack (Instant Cake I think) the thing wont negotiate when it calls out. Is there an easy way to "fix" it via Hyperterminal or do I have to re-image the A drive? FYI, I didnt make a backup of the virgin drive so I'm going to need to find an image for this thing.

instantcake doesn't hack a tivo, but zipper does... are you sure it's hacked?

calls home can be funky (the tivo's modem is NOT it's finest feature)... did you try a few times?

Try "Clear and Delete Everything". plug in the phone line... Do a guided setup... That will come close....

A C&DE won't fix his problem as it has no affects on the installed hacks. If your friend doesn't care about any of the installed hacks then change the bootpage command by deleting the "upgradesoftware=false" statement and rename rc.sysinit.author to something else and reboot. The HDTivo will come back up in a completely unhacked state and you should then be able to dial out successfully. The hack files will still be resident on the HDTivo but since they're never executed at bootup you'll never see them.
