I have 2 HR10-250's, one got the 6.3c update, one did not. The one that got it is fine. For the other, I uploaded the 6.3c tivoapp and hoped for the best. Now as I look at the recording times they are all an ohour off. It is displaying the correct time though. What can I do to fix this. Are the 6.3c slices avaialbe on p2p anywhere?

Yes, kinda freaking out.

Thank guys,

I did not get the slices either. I upgraded by replacing tivoapp with the 6.3c version and everything is working normally, manual recordings are even recording correctly. Are you sure you installed correctly? Did you remember to reboot?

I just did it again, no dice. TWP has each show recording at the wrong time. :(

TWP has a problem with DST. It is not a problem with 6.3c it is a TWP problem. It has been posted in several threads. Dont think there is a fix for it yet.

Check out this thread http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=340681&page=6 about half way down the page. Seems a lot of people are having the TWP problem.

I have hr10-250s and one has 6.3c installed, and the other does not. I tried copying over the tivoapp, and all looks ok except for the software version shown in MFS/SwSystem, ACTIVE shows the same date as my 6.3b-01-2-357 slice. Does that mean I am still at 6.3b ?

That was it - TWP was just displaying the wrong info. The Tivo itself seems to be fine. Time will tell.

If you copied over the tivoapp you are good to go. Sw version will still show 6.3b. There is a script (SetVersion.tcl) that changes it to 6.3c, but it is really not necessary.

What do I have to do after ftping the tivoapp over? Thanks

Assuming the 6.3c tivoapp you just ftp'd over is called tivoapp.bak:

cd /tvbin
mv tivoapp tivoapp.63b
mv tivoapp.bak tivoapp
reboot

Dont forget to make your drive read write before making the changes. I have also had problems with not enough space available errors. Those can be solved by deleting old tivoapp backups (tivoapp.orig, tivoapp.bak etc)

Gotta link to that? I couldn't find it either here or at the Board That Dare Not Speak Its Name.

setVersion.tcl is on the other forum. It shows up right away if you do a search. Here is a link to a thread with updateactive.zip. Looks like it does the same thing. http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=343660&page=2&pp=30 Check out post number 44. Be careful. It only works if the slices are on your box. I saw where some people used it without the slices and had major problems.
