Couple things are happening on my R-10 unit. It's supposed to hold 70 hours of programming, but twice I noticed it would not change a program to "keep until I delete" stating something about space - sory did not note the original message. I checked my saved programs and calculated I had only used maybe 30 hours. Both times I have watched and deleted old programs to make sure no future shows were "lost". Could this be a bad drive? do I need to reformat it or something?

Ohh also, twice I have had two different programs show recorded, but when I went to play them it went directly to the delete option, as if it was at the end of the program. When I looked at the "duration" it showed 00:00, so figured nothing recorded... anyone know why this happens? I went ahead and deleted both those season passes and reschedueld them... they just happened this week, so Ill see how it goes after the next recording.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

The unit not only uses the already recorded shows but also the scheduled recordings to determine whether there is space available. How many have been set as Keep Until I Delete? How many SPs?

For the ones that go directly to the delete screen, I suggest you restart the unit.

7 season passes and at the time, just about all of the recorded shows were Keep until I Delete. I knew it took into account shows that we going to be recorded, but I thouhgt it used to give a message saying future shows may not have room or something to that effect. I'm going to try restarting the unit and check out some of the links supplied.

Thanks!

If you don't want to lose any recordings but increase storage space, add a second hard drive from dvrupgrade.com or weaknees.com. If you want to start fresh buy a big hard drive (250GB or larger) from either vendor and replace your existing hard drive. The nice thing about a single hard drive upgrade is less heat and you can save your original hard drive as a backup. If you are constantly running out of space, Go Big! :D
